Welcome to The Checklist, a comprehensive list of 100 questions to sharpen your focus on what it might take to develop a highly resilient household, capable of supporting you in the face of disruptive climate change, ecological collapse and economic uncertainty.

The questions cover 12 areas of life: community, psychology, practical skills, food, water and shelter, health and wellbeing, technology and finance, energy, transport and security. All 100 questions need to be answered in order to generate a score. Once you receive your score, move to The Call To Action to improve your score and to develop an even  stronger sense of personal and local resilience.

There can be no guarantees that a high score will ‘immunise’ you from all of the challenging disruptions ahead, but investing time in completing The Checklist will deepen your appreciation of how strengthening your resilience to deal with the ‘greatest existential threat in human history’ is a smart thing to do.

The Checklist essentially acts as a ‘resilience detector’, highlighting strengths and weakness in your household, and when used in conjunction with The Conversation and The Call To Action, can be a major catalyst for positive change in your life: drawing attention to how you connect with your community, take care of your body and mind, understand your food and water supplies, secure your technology and finance and much more.

While The Checklist can inspire you to live more resiliently and consciously, it won’t slow global warming, replace lost forests or bring back extinct species. The Checklist is not about ‘saving the planet’. It’s about figuring out what you can do to place your household on a more resilient footing for a challenging future.

Use The Checklist as a dynamic document by regularly upgrading your No’s to Yes’s, sharing it with others and appreciating how positively it influences your household decision making and sense of resilience. Your data security is guaranteed as none of your information is collected.

One final note: resilience is a complex, multi dimensional human quality that we generally only appreciate after we’ve been ’tested’. Let’s plan to look back in 5 or 10 years time and be thankful that we started early with The Local Resilience Project Checklist.

0-25%: It’s time to start taking your situation more seriously and start building more resilience into your life.
26-50%: You have some significant resilience structures in place, but the more you work with The Resilience Checklist, the less anxiety you will feel about your future.
51-75%: You’ve done a solid job building resilience into your life. Continue to develop, especially in the areas where you scored least.
76-100%: Congratulations on your efforts so far. Continue to fine tune your efforts and as you develop your resources, share them with your community.
